The National Railway Xinghuo Station is the originating station of the Beijing-Shenyang PDL, and it is also an important hub for Beijing public transportation system.

The project scope includes the metro/bus interchange hub and three commercial development parcels on the south. The scheme allows a great integration of multiple transportation networks and accommodates many types of commercial services.A transfer hall which replaces the traditional outdoor square, is formed in front of the train station by maximizing the use of both aboveground and underground spaces.

Our design draws inspiration from the historical buildings in Beijing, refines the shape of the Chinese traditional sloping roofs to recreate a unique contemporary language. The interior of the hub makes full use of the beauty of the structure, walking in the hall with the columns around and the sunlight pouring in from the skylights are just like walking in the forest. It as a result provides the passengers a more convenient and pleasant transfer experience.
